Library

The HUMBUG library is a collection of:

• Various bits of hardware, screws, cover plates, old network cards and cables, enough to help you get network access at a meeting.
• Various pieces of software, burnt cds of your favourite distribution/tool.
• Magazines and books, we have an ongoing subscription to the Linux Journal.

Members can borrow items from the library outside of meetings.

Hostnames

Members may be allocated DNS entries from the humbug.org.au domain. Requests for hostnames should be sent to hostmaster@humbug.org.au. Hostnames will be given to paying members provided those hosts are not already taken.

Email Alias

Each member is entitled to an alias@humbug.org.au email alias that will forward any mail it receives onto an account of your choosing. It is not a shell account, or a IMAP/POP3 account, it is simply a mail forwarder. At the moment HUMBUG does not pay for the bandwidth that this uses, but please do not abuse the service by subscribing to high volume mailing lists through your alias.

Book Discount

Humbug members receive a ten percent discount at McGills bookstore when purchasing technical books.

IRC

Channel #humbug on irc.humbug.org.au is where lots of club members drop in for a chat with other club members. Generally speaking, everyone on the channel knows everyone else in real life, so the chats often get fairly... detailed.
